The curriculum adopted in our kindergartens is student-centred, intended to address the distinct learning needs, interests and ability. The curriculum is underpinned by six domains.
1) Picture Book Scheme
With the quality education fund, TWGHs has invited international experts to create the “Picture Book Scheme”. Educational Psychologists suggested “the first 3 years of life, when the brain is developing and maturing, is the most intensive period for acquiring speech and language skills. These skills and cognitive development are closely linked, in order to learn and think effectively children need to develop good language skills.
2) Quality English Language Curriculum
Between nursery and K3, children participate in English learning activities daily. Our school currently has two Native Speaking English Teachers to provide a fun and inspectional language learning environment.
1) Arts-Integrated Curriculum
With the quality education fund, we have the chance to invite art expert to launch an “Arts-Integrated Curriculum”, with the elements of music, art and dance. It aims to nurture children’s creativity and develop their potential in art.
2) Physical Development
Our school participates in the “Mainland-Hong Kong Teachers Exchange & Collaboration Programme” introduced by the Education Bureau. Experts from mainland designed a “Physical Development Curriculum”, in order to provide children with a comprehensive physical training.
3) “One Athletic Skill for One Pupil” training programme
The Board of Directors funded our students to participate in extracurricular activities, such as music class, dance class, Wushu training class to help children in building confidence and creativity. Our school has introduced a scouts program, which has been awarded “Outstanding Contribution Award” by the Scout Association of Hong Kong.
4) Montessori Education
Our school is equipped with a “Montessori Education corner” for N1 and K1 students to learn through sensory-motor activities, working with materials that develop their cognitive powers through direct experience: seeing, hearing, tasting, smelling, touching, and movement.
5) Moral Education
Our school promotes Moral Education by providing complete and diversified education, encourage children to develop a moral, loving character. We hope to spread the caring culture to homes and society. We believe the caring culture in schools and the whole community will promote healthy personal development.
6) Chinese Culture Learning Programme
Our school introduce “Di Zi Gui-Standards for being a Good Pupil and Child” to children. The book is based on the ancient teaching of the Chinese philosopher Confucius that emphasises the basic requisites for being a good person and guidelines for living in harmony with others.
7) Student Health Service
The school regularly invite health care workers to conduct health check-up service. We also invite different specialists to run educational activities and lectures, in order to fulfil children’s needs.
